You can connect your Schoology account to Fathom Reads and sync your classes, Students and roster information. To do so,
follow the steps below! NOTE: This process requires a Schoology Admin account!
Overall the Schoology API helps third-party developers implement integration features with a school’s Schoology environment
Login and Navigate to Integration
Step 1: Log in to Schoology with Admin rights.
Step 2: Click on the Tools tab and select School Management from the menu.
Step 3: Click Integration from the menu on the left.
Step 4: Select the API tab..
Note: In the image shown at below, the Schoology Admin has already generated an API key.
Step 5: If you have not generated a key yet, you may see the Request API Key instead. Please click the Request API Key button as shown below
Step 6: Copy your Consumer Key and Consumer Secret and use it to fill up the configuration form.
OR you can email it to [email protected], to fill up the configuration form.
Set up Configuration
Once configuration has been set, Fathom support team will accept your request and will do the required settings to import data.
Fathom support will sync the data manually first time then the sync will run everyday basis. You will see the import details in your roster dasboard.
From Roster Import Options section at right panel, click on Schoology button
Provide the following details as mentioned in the Configuration Form.
Copy the organization name from Fathom licence details.
This is the license code associated with your Fathom account.
Schoology school id:
The Unique Id associated with you school.
This is the Schoology URL of your school.
Provide the Consumer Key which is generated from Integration section.
Provide the Consumer Secret which is generated from Integration section.
This option enables a sync every night to pull over any changes from Canvas to Fathom
Reads. If you only want to do a one time data transfer, uncheck nightly sync.Otherwise, you can leave this option checked.
Save the form. After reviewing the configuration details, Fathom support team will give you the access to manual sync.
